AICPA Personal Financial Planning Symposium 2027
January 25-27, 2027 · Nashville, TN
The PFP Symposium is the AICPA's conference for CPAs who advise clients on personal financial planning. Its distinguishing feature is where it starts from: tax. Where most planning conferences treat tax as one topic among many, this audience begins with the return and works outward, which produces noticeably different conclusions about sequencing and structure.
Who attends
CPA financial planners, PFS credential holders, tax practitioners expanding into wealth advisory, and RIA firms with a CPA-led planning practice. It is a smaller and more technical room than a general advisor conference.
What's on the agenda
Tax planning strategy under current and pending legislation
Retirement distribution and income sequencing
Estate, gift and charitable planning for closely held wealth
Building an advisory practice inside or alongside a CPA firm
PFS credential education and CPE
Why tax-led planning is a data problem first
Advice that starts from the return requires a complete, current picture of a household — every account, basis figure, entity, held-away asset and the prior year's filing — assembled for every client, every year. Firms that automated collection and reconciliation can run proactive tax planning across their entire book. Firms that did not can only do it for whoever asks.
Milemarker is the data infrastructure layer for wealth management, unifying account, document and held-away data across 130+ systems.
