FPA Summit 2026
November 9-11, 2026 · National Harbor, MD
FPA Summit is the Financial Planning Association's annual national conference and the largest gathering of CFP professionals in the country. The FPA is the profession's membership body rather than a commercial platform, and the agenda reflects that — heavy on technical planning content and continuing education, lighter on product.
Who attends
Financial planners across every business model: independent RIAs, planners at broker-dealers and insurance-affiliated firms, bank and trust advisors, and a substantial contingent of students and career-changers coming through FPA chapters. Firm leaders attend for the practice management track.
What's on the agenda
Technical planning — tax, retirement income, estate, insurance and education funding
Continuing education across CFP Board principal knowledge topics
Practice management, team building and career development
Investment and economic outlook sessions
Technology and the operating model behind a planning-led firm
Why planning capacity is a data problem
The constraint on how many households a planner can serve well is rarely their planning ability — it is how long it takes to assemble a current, accurate picture of a client before every meeting. When account data, held-away assets, planning assumptions and CRM notes live in separate systems, that assembly is manual and it repeats for every client, every quarter. Firms that removed that step found capacity they did not know they had.
Milemarker is the data infrastructure layer for wealth management, connecting 130+ systems including the major planning and CRM platforms.
