Milemarker was founded by operators who helped build Orion into one of the industry's most effective advisor platforms — and saw what the rest of the industry still needed. So we built it.

Before Milemarker existed, Jud Mackrill helped build Orion into one of the most effective and valuable advisor platforms in the industry. He joined early, led implementation and marketing through the company's growth and sale to private equity, and worked directly with the firms that are today's largest wealth management brands. He lived the day-to-day reality — connecting custodians, wrangling fragmented data, building dashboards from scratch, and helping advisory firms grow.

That experience made one thing clear: the broader wealth management industry didn't have a technology partner built specifically for how advisory firms actually operate. Firms were stuck assembling disconnected systems, paying for custom integrations that broke, and working with vendors who didn't understand their business.
Milemarker was the answer. Not a generic data tool dressed up for financial services — a platform built from the ground up by people who've been in the room when a firm realizes its data doesn't match, when a new acquisition stalls because the systems can't talk, when a COO spends Friday reconciling spreadsheets instead of running the business.
